The Rockies range from about 1500 meters to about 4400 meters, while the Alps range from about 2000 meters to about 4800 meters.

Yes, the Rockies are higher on average. The Rockies have 53 peaks that rise over 14,000 ft above sea level and over 700 peaks that rise over 13,000ft.

Maybe on average, as the Rockies are a wider and much longer mountain range. But the highest point in the Rockies is Mount Elbert at 14,440 ft (4,401 m) whereas Mont Blanc in the Alps is higher 4,808 meters (15,774 ft). The Alps also have 128 peaks over 4,000 meters (13,123 ft).

No. The Canadian Rockies are older and were even bigger at one point. Astonishingly, the Canadian Shield range(located around the Canadian border in Ontario) used to be the highest on Earth, but due to millenia of erosion, it is now just slightly above sea level.

The Rocky Mountains were formed from 80 million to 55 million years ago. The Swiss Alps were shaped most dramatically by glaciation during the Ice Age which began about 2.4 million years ago and ended about 12,000 years ago. This means that the Rockies are about 77 million years older than the Alps.
