The xylem are larger and have lignified walls. This increases their strength and allows the xylem to transport water under pressure. The phloem on the other hand are smaller and are responsible for carrying organic nutrients, especially sucrose, through the plant.
Hope this helps
You. You're a tube.
either the xylem or the phloem
Phloem as it transports sugars two ways
Vascular plants. Xylem and Phloem are the vascular system of plants. If you compare it with humans, they're the blood vessels...sort of Xylem transports water, Phloem transports nutrients
phloem and xylem. sorry but that is just my guess
phloem and xylem. sorry but that is just my guess
phloem and xylem.(water carrying tube and food carrying tube)
Xylem is composed of tracheary elements (such as vessels and tracheids) and fibers. Phloem is composed of sieve tube elements and companion cells.
The xylem and phloem tube is called the Vascular Bundle.
yes it is and xylem is for the water carrying tubes
The xylem tube transports the water and minerals to the top of the plant or tree like the General Sherman. The phloem tube transports sugar or sap to all the living cells that cannot make its own sugar.
Dead xylem cells are called "tracheids" or "vessel elements," while dead phloem cells are called "sieve cells" or "sieve tube members."
