Is Alberta an overrated travel destination?

Not really, no. Some people may disagree due to the adverts in other countries about Alberta's unsustainable oil sands. But little do they realize that Alberta's not all about the oil and gas industry. There are many other tour spots in this province that have nothing to do with oil and gas and more to do with great scenery and neat history. For instance, the Rocky Mountains are always a great place to travel to, as is the Royal Tyrrell Museum near Drumheller, and even the Calgary Stampede that is hosted in July in Calgary, Alberta.

What are the three biggest cities of Alberta Canada?

There were no cities in Alberta at the time but all towns and villages wanted to be the Capital as it would bring in money and status. Other towns that could have been selected include Calgary, Lethbridge and Lac La Biche. I'm not sure there were any other serious considerations because Edmonton had closer ties to Britain and Eastern Canada.
