YES! I just traveled to Jamaica a few weeks ago, and walking through a forest area in Dolphin Cove discovered enormous red and black Spiders. From tip to tip they were probably 4-5 inches. The webs were several feet large.

CORRECTION TO THE ABOVE CONTRIBUTION

I am from Jamaica and I will tell you honestly that while there are spiders, they are not venomous and will not bite. Jamaica is actually one of the few places on earth where you won't have to worry about poison creatures or plants. We have no poisonous snakes, they were eaten by mongoose brought by the Spaniards 450 years ago. We however do have crocodiles, but you'll only run into them in the swamps.

Yes there are scorpions in Jamaica as I found out to day when I caught one in my lounge.

I moved here from the UK just over a year ago and the one I found in my house is the first I've seen and heard of.

It was about 2 inches long when laid out flat.

I did return it to the wild unharmed.

Yes. There is the Jamaican yellow boa. Jamaica doesn't have any poisonous snakes though.
