'Foto Showdown' is a 'DSi game', as it requires the use of the DSi camera. That means it would not be able to play on a regular DS or a lite, though technically it should work on a 3DS.
As well as those, there's also DSiWare, which needs access to the DSi store, so again those are DSi specific and can't be played on a regular DS.
Apart from those though, other games are either 'DS games' that work on every model, or DSi-enhanced games that work on every model, but have additional features on a DSi or 3DS.
There are no cartridge games made for DSi, but you can buy games from the built-in DSi Shop, or use the internet browser from the DSi Shop to access made-for-DSi websites like DSiCade.com.
All of the games that work for any DS will work for DSI XL.
The 3DS has its own library of games, but can also play any games released on the DS or DSi.
If you Mean Parental Contols like the wii. Then yes, the dsi has them. The Dsi is also region locked, so you can't play DSi games from Japan on an American Dsi.
The DSi can play DS and DSi games, as well as DSi ware games. It cannot play GameBoy games or 3DS games.
DSI's and DS (Lite)'s use the same games, so if there's a Yu-Gi-Oh game for the DS, then you can play it on the DSI.
It is compatible with all DS games apart from any that require Slot 2, which the DSi and the XL do not have. (There is no such thing as a DSi XL specific game.)
The DSi XL is not region locked, it will play games from any region. The exception is for games marked as 'DSi-enhanced' such as Pokemon Conquest. These work in a regular DS or 3DS, but not a DSi from the wrong region.
Any ds games, including Health coach, can be played on a ds, dsi , or dsi XL and vise versa!I know because i had a ds, but I sold it to get the dsi XL. All the games work.
You can download games/apps for the DSi via the DSi Shop.
