Are there any Deaf Serial Killers?

There was. Joseph Mesa, 20 years old, from Guam, killed two students while he was also a student at the renowned Gallaudet University in northeast Washington DC, for the deaf and hearing impaired. Robbery seemed to be the motivating factor although very little was actually taken. The victims, Eric Plunkett and Benjamin Varner, were not wealthy and had little to lose but their lives.

Mesa was arrested after evidence was found and a check from Varner's stolen checkbook was cashed for a used laptop computer. Mesa, after four hours of interrigation finally confessed to both murders.

Although Mesa was caught before he could kill a third time, he is still considered a serial killer, as it was just a matter of time before he chose a new victim.
