There are five unincorporated towns in Vermont. They are Glastenbury, Averill, Ferdinand, Lewis and Somerset. They have, as of the 2000 census, 16, 8, 33, 0 and 5 residents respectively.

The town's affairs are administered by a state-appointed supervisor.

Of all, Glastenbury was the most successful. At one time it had a railroad connecting it with Bennington, a charcoal business and a tourist hotel. All this died out before 1900.

Glastenbury Mountain is said to be cursed and several people have disappeared in the area between 1920 and 1950.

Which is the correct sentence structure in the sentence New Mexico has many ghost towns that were abandoned when their silver mines were depleted and these towns are popular tourist attractions?

The correct sentence structure is to separate the two independent clauses with a conjunction or punctuation. For clarity, it can be rewritten as: "New Mexico has many ghost towns that were abandoned when their silver mines were depleted, and these towns are popular tourist attractions." Alternatively, a semicolon could be used: "New Mexico has many ghost towns that were abandoned when their silver mines were depleted; these towns are popular tourist attractions."
