Yes, terns [Sternidae family] have established breeding colonies on Aruba. They especially favor the stretches along the reef inlets in the southeast near the oil refinery in Sint Nicolaas [San Nicholas]. At least ten species of terns are known to breed on Aruba. Terns are known as 'bubi' in Papiamento.
