There is only one true city in Iceland, Reykjavík with a population of about 120 thousand. The next largest town is Kópavogur with a population of 30 thousand, then Hafnarfjörður with 25 thousand. But these two largest towns in Iceland are adjacent to Reykjavík along with a three other smaller towns. These towns and Reykjavík are commonly called the greater capital area with a total population of about 200 thousand people. Which is just over 60% of the total population of Iceland of about 320 thousand.
