Yes, Zip discs are considerably larger than standard floppy disks.

A standard floppy disc is 90mm × 94mm x 3mm. Zip discs are much wider longer and thicker at 97mm x 98.5mm x 6mm. This is because internally the platter of a Zip disk had a much higher spin speed and required space to spin free of any resistance.

Capacity, mostly. Traditional floppies have a maximum capacity of 2.88 MB. Zip disks had a starting capacity of 100 MB, and have a current max of 750 MB. Zip drives can still read traditional floppies, but Zip disks have narrower tracks and spin faster, so a standard floppy drive cannot read them.

What is the difference between a zip and a DVD?

Depends on what you mean by "zip". A zip file is a file of data that has been compressed to maximize storage space. A zip disk was a removeable magnetic recording medium that held more than a floppy disk, but less than a DVD. A DVD is an optical medium. You can put zip files on a DVD, but they will not be playable on a DVD player, since software is required in order to "unzip" them.

Does A hard disk provides much less storage capacity than a floppy disk or zip disk?

Zip disks can hold 100 megabytes. Today's hard drives usually hold 250 gigabytes, smaller ones are around 100 gigabytes, and large ones are upwards of 500 gigabytes. One gigabyte is 1000 megabytes, so the typical hard drive can hold 2,500 times more than a zip disk. To answer the question in one word, no.
