There is one company in the Czech Republic that still makes Zyklon B, though they market it under another name. Its marketed as an insect killer, which was the purpose for which it was originally developed. I'd say that what gets used in animal shelters varies from shelter to shelter. I know of one near my home that used to use engine exhaust. I'd imagine quite a few use cyanide crystals and hydrochloric acid to create cyanide gas, as is done in gas chambers on death row in penitentiaries.
