There have been many gay actors on Soap Operas all over the world.
The only one I can think of at the moment though is Tim Campbell who played Dan in the Aussie soap Home & Away. He only came out after leaving the show though.
In the UK, there was also Michael Cashman, who played Colin Russell in Eastenders. And currently in Eastenders there is John Partridge who plays Christian Clarke.
John Savident played the very popular character Fred Elliott in Coronation Street. Ian McKellan was also briefly in Coronation Street as Mel Hutchwright.
In the US I'm not very knowledgable, but Robert Gant had two small roles in Melrose Place.
Chad Allen played Eric Whitlow in General Hospital: Night Shift (is that classed as a soap?)
John Barrowman played Peter Williams in the short lived Titans (which was billed in the UK as a soap).
The late Dack Rambo had roles in All My Children, Dallas and Another World.

∙ 9y agoThere have been several gay characters on General Hospital. Felix, DuBois, Lucas Jones, Brad Cooper, Faith Rosco, and Kyle Julian are LGBT characters. Ryan Carnes has appeared as gay characters on GH and in a movie.

∙ 12y agoThe character who plays Leilas boyfriend, Elliot is gay. He reffered to kissing Hannah as weird and not very nice.....!!! That's all i know of.
