Not sure you're going to find anything really "cheap" in SF, but you can try these reasonable and very good restaurants. Cafe Sport (Italian), Pacific Cafe (seafood), Cadillac Bar or Chevy's (Mexican). If you want to venture out of the city, by all means, try Acapulco Mexican restaurant in Alameda and Lo Coco in Berkeley!
