Pearson's Michelle is a lovely orange miniature pompon dahlia.

Of the family Asteraceae, this cultivar has flowers up to 2 inches in diameter. The plant stands 3 feet tall and should be spaced about 2 to 3 feet apart.

Propagate by dividing rhizomes, tubers, corms or bulbs (including offsets) or by herbaceous stem cuttings.

Dahlias grow well in full sun to partial shade. They should get six hours of sunlight a day. In warmer climates afternoon shade can help the flowers by keeping them cooler. Afternoon shade can also improve the color and reduce fading in some blooms.

Dahlias are heavy feeders and like well drained soil. The soil pH should be around 6.5.

Tuber loss is quite often due to the tubers freezing or too much water collecting around the tuber. Adding compost to the soil is recommended.

A foliar feeder, the dahlia aborbs nutrients through its leaves, making spray fertilizers especially effective.

Plant bulbs outside after the threat of frost is passed. To get earlier blooms start inside and transplant outside after danger of frost is past.

Depending on the cultivar, dahlias take from 90 to 120 days to first bloom but will continue to bloom until frost. In hot climates they may go dormant then revive when the weather cools.

The floral design style that presents flowers the way they're found in nature is?

The floral design that presents flowers the way they would be found naturally is called a vegetative design. It should include only plants that grow together in the wild in the same season of the year for instance you may have a group of plants that grow in woodland in spring such as bluebells, and grape hyacinth but you would not include any exotic flowers in the arrangement or a rose as they are not woodland flowers and they do not grow in the spring.
