Best Answer

Yes, there are. For example, the parts of the equipment must not be easily loosen and be digested by the child. Similarly, body parts can not be caught and possibly removed due to equipment failure.

Creating a Safe Environment for Playground Equipment?

Before you install any playground equipment for your children in your backyard, you need to consider how to make the area a safe place in which to play. Consider using rubber mulch underneath the playground equipment in case a child falls off of the equipment. You should also make sure that the equipment is placed far enough away from any trees or power lines. Try to find a shaded area if possible, to keep the kids out of the sun and to keep them from getting burned on the metal parts of the equipment, such as a slide.
