The behavioural approach assumes that behaviour can be observed then copied where as the cognitive approach assume humans have the capacity to process and organise information in the mind. it is less concerned with visible behaviour but more concerned with the thought process behind it. hope this helped. Systems approach involves a combination of three approaches: the classical approach, the behavioral approach and the management science approach. Contingency approach on the other hand combines two or more of the other approaches depending on the given situation.

The Functional approach is vertical in nature, with operations grouped as a functional unit. Typical of a departmental grouping. The Process approach is horizontal in nature and each operation cuts across different functions. Typical of Team leaders managing a particular customer item.
