A uniquely Danish tradition is to spend Constitution day in the open listening to politicians giving speeches on Democracy - it's development since 1849 and current status. Normally, Danes is just as uninterested in Politics as any other people, but this one day a year they seem to appreciate it.
On the less serious side of life, many Danes are each year in December celebrating the arrival of the special X-mas beers to the bars. This is called J-day (after 'Juleøl' = x-mas beer) and in the evening and all through the night you can see seriously drunken people wearing the hat of Santa's little helpers ;-)
