And anyone with that information...as I don't have any kids and pay lots of school taxes (in several states) to make sure everyone in society can get and education...how do I get a tax break too?
Yes, it's true
Some home schools are FREE == There are no federal tax breaks or programs to help pay for homeschooling. It is all out of pocket. I don't know all the state laws, but I would be very surprised if they offered any help.
Visit hslda.org. They have lots of info. by state. To see how other families are homeschooling successfully, visit http://www.homeschool-rewards.com Blessings
That is decided at the state level. For example, Alaska offers a stipend to purchase homeschool curricula and supplies. Texas does not pay anything. It is more typical for states not to pay anything. There are no federal stipends or tax breaks for homeschooling. Homeschooling parents are not even allowed to take the $250 federal deductible that conventional teachers are allowed to take for out-of-pocket expenses.
When it comes to homeschooling the rules and information varies from state to state. I recommend looking at homeschooloingabout.com to get accurate information regarding homeschooling in your state.
You would have to check your individual state's requirements. Google your state and homeschooling laws.
There is no federal law requiring breaks or lunch breaks. Some states have state laws that govern breaks and lunch breaks. Kansas does not have any state laws requiring breaks or lunch breaks. So your employer can legally work you an 8 or 10 hour shift without a break.
There are several organization offering state accredited homeschooling programs in Illinois. One of these is the "Theres Fun in Learning" organization.
Each state has different rules for homeschooling, so I suggest you check with your states's education site. Here are a few places specifically for Indiana homeschooling families. They have lots of good info. The first one is a forum and the the next two are specific info for your state. http://www.time4learning.net/forum/indiana/ http://www.time4learning.com/homeschool/homeschooling_in_indiana.shtml http://www.hslda.org/hs/state/IN/default.asp Best wishes, Jackie
Alabama does not have a law requiring employers to give any breaks to employees no matter what days they work....There is no federal or Alabama state law mandating that an employer must allow for any meal breaks or other breaks, regardless of the day of the week that is worked. For information on federal labor laws concerning paid breaks, meal breaks and other breaks, see this website:http:/www.dol.gov/dol/topic/workhours/breaks.htmFor information on Alabama state laws concerning meal breaks or other breaks, see this website:http://www.humanresourceblog.com/2008/02/05/alabama-break-laws/Also, here is an additional website that combines information on federal and Alabama state laws into a comprehensive summary:http://blog.laborlawcenter.com/2006/07/27/alabama-lunch-and-break-law/
A crime.
Homeschooling is an excellent option for families who want to be involved with what & how their child(ren) are learning. It can be daunting to consider at the beginning, but there are MANY websites & resources available to you! Some states offer assistance through the local school system. Oklahoma has a special online program called K-12 that provides homeschooling families with curriculum, a live teacher to ask questions of, and many other resources. If that's not in your state, the following website has many links for information on homeschooling and even more that take you to other websites for worksheets on every subject from math to art to English! http://www.goodsitesforkids.org/Homeschool.htm
