Are there big sins and little sins?

In this Satan-deceived world [see Rev.12:9] -- yes. Men call some lying "little white lies," for instance. Which gives the impression that some lying is okay while other lying isn't so much.

But in God's eyes -- no.

"...Sin is the transgression [breaking] of the law." (I John 3:4)

God doesn't categorize "sin" into different degrees of "disobedience," which is what sin is. ALL SIN [disobedience to God's Commandments] CARRIES WITH IT THE DEATH PENALTY! [see Rom.6:23]

And there is no "big death or little death."

Disobedience is the workings of the Devil [in whom, like God, this world doesn't believe exists]. Speaking to God's Faithful servants, Paul tells them:

"Once YOU WERE DEAD, doomed forever BECAUSE OF YOUR MANY SINS [not: because of your big or little sins]. You used to live just like the rest of the world, full of sin, OBEYING SATAN, the mighty prince of the power of the air. HE IS THE SPIRIT AT WORK IN THE HEARTS of those who REFUSE TO OBEY GOD. All of us used to live that way, following the passions and desires of our evil nature. WE WERE BORN WITH AN EVIL NATURE, and WE WERE UNDER GOD'S ANGER JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE. But God is so Rich in Mercy, and He Loved us so very much, that even while WE WERE DEAD BECAUSE OF OUR SINS, He gave us Life when He raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God's special favor that you have been saved!)..." (Eph.2:1-5 NLT New Living Translation)

Same Ephesians verse 2 -- [KJV]: "...in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children OF DISOBEDIENCE...".

God has no desire for His Children to be a "little bit good and a little bit bad." But to learn to totally choose the good and totally reject the evil: to be exactly like their Father in heaven:

"BE[or 'become'] YE THEREFORE PERFECT, even as your Father which is in heaven is Perfect." (Matt.5:48)

God never gave man the right to decide what is good and what is evil. He has told us in His Commandments. With God there is only "obedience" or "disobedience" to His Commandments. No middle road. Obedience is "Righteousness" with God -- Disobedience is "Sin."

"Sin" [disobedience] is okay with the god of this world [Satan, the one who originated sin; the father of sin - John 8:44]... the god man chose to worship and obey in the beginning. In some cases, he's convinced some men that there is no such thing as sin [eliminating God's Commandments altogether and promoting lawlessness]. He has deceived man with all kinds of varying shades of sin -- hardly any of which are really all that bad; certainly not worthy of death.

Man's nature likes the ways of the god of this world, best; the ways of disobedience. But God demands Perfection from His Children... the Perfection of emulating His Firstborn Perfect Son.

"Be ye therefore followers of God, as Dear Children; and walk in Love, AS CHRIST ALSO HATH LOVED US, and hath given Himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour." (Eph.5:1-2)

There is no "little sin or big sin" with God... there is only "obedience or disobedience." There is no middle road... and disobedience [even a little bit] is not the right road to take:

"Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon THE CHILDREN OF DISOBEDIENCE. Be not ye therefore partakers with them. For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye Light in the LORD: walk as Children of Light: (For the fruit of the Spirit is in ALL GOODNESS and RIGHTEOUSNESS and TRUTH;) proving what is acceptable unto the LORD." (verses 6-10)

In this world, it seems that the biggest sin [whatever that may be in the mind of deceived man] isn't really that bad; and there are definitely big and little ones. But the coming "wrath of God" on the disobedient will teach mankind otherwise.

Yes. Examples would be murder (a big sin), as opposed to lightly injuring someone deliberately (a much smaller sin).
