Yes there is carbohydrate in potato. Potatoes are relatively high in carbohydrate.

For example, there are:


  • 18 grams of carbohydrate in 3.5 ounces, or 100g, of boiled or steamed new potatoes.
  • 20 grams of carbohydrate in 3.5 ounces, or 100g, of steamed or boiled old/regular potatoes
  • 18 carbs in 3.5 ounces, or 100g, of homemade mashed potato (whole milk added)
  • 63 carbohydrates in 1 large baked potato with skin
