There are many Forms of Christianity. For almost 1,000 years their was no real distinction between the Church, as it was a whole. In Rome, Antioch, Jerusalem, Constantinople, and Alexandria their were the 5 Patriarchs, or heads of the Church in those regions. It stayed quite equal until 1052, when the Church in Rome changed parts of the service and of the Christian Creed. In 1053, tensions between the rest of the Church and of Rome endured, as no changes were made to the Creed until finally, in 1054, the Roman Church declared itself as the Right of the Church, beginning the Roman Catholic Church. The Old Church is regarded as the Eastern Orthodox Church. Church Formation in Time - 33 A.D. - Beginning of the Church, The Orthodox Church. 1054 A.D. - The Great Schism, Creation of the Roman Catholic Church Other Branches, branched off of Catholic Church - * Church of England * Protestant * Baptist * Lutheran * Episcopalian * Other Small Sects, such as the Church of God and Mormonism.
