Yes. Electric power plants powered by coal, natural gas, and nuclear power use heat to produce electricity.
Coal powered electricity generating plants are quite common. Here in the provice of Ontario (where I live and type) I know that approximately one third of the electricity in the provice is generated by coal power (the other thirds being nuclear and hydroelectric).
There are none
Nuclear energy is typically used to generate electricity through nuclear power plants. Ships and submarines also use nuclear energy to power their propulsion systems. Additionally, some research facilities and spacecraft are powered by nuclear energy sources.
The only use of nuclear plants in industry is the production of electricity.
Nuclear power plants use nuclear energy as their source of power. They harness the energy released from nuclear reactions (such as fission) to generate electricity. The heat produced by these reactions is used to create steam, which drives turbines to generate electricity.
