Yes there are new weapons in gears of war 3. They even improved some weapons like the hammer burst it now has a bayonet on the end which you can stab people with. One of the new weapons is the double barrel shotgun. You can see it in the gears of war 3 trailer when Marcus saves Dom before hes shot by a Locust.
