There are several venomous snakes in Saudi Arabia that can cause human fatalities.

Arabian cobra, desert black snake, Horned viper, Sindh sawscale viper, Northeast African sawscale viper, Carpet viper, Anderson's burrowing asp, Ein Geddi burrowing asp and Puff adders to name but a few. There are also around 9 species of sea snake off Eastern Saudi, all of which can produce a potentially fatal bite.

Snakebite isn't a major hazard but you shouldn't be naive to what species are around.
