Yes. There are numerous species of Shark in the waters around Corfu. Including the fabled Great White (Carcharodon carcharias), but try not to worry, actual attacks on humans are very rare. There have only been 31 attacks on humans in the Meditteranean in 200 years. There is a breeding population of Great Whites in the area around Eastern Mediterranean, the Adriatic and Ionian Sea (around Sicily, Malta, the Ionian Islands). Possibly using Blue Finn Tuna as a food source. In 1987 Alfredo Cutajar casught a female Great White (all the largest Great Whites are female) off the coast of Malta, which was origanlly claimed to be 7.13 m (23.4 ft) long. However, are careful photo analysis the true size was calculated being closer to 18.3 ft (5.6 m), still a colosul specimen. Great Whites in this area seem to be larger than average, a specimen that killed a swimmer off Keratsini, Piraeus in 1948 was reported to be 6.4 m (21ft long).
