Vampire bats are real. When I was stationed in the Army in Panama we were warned when on guard duty to be careful. There are vampire bats in Central America which attack cattle and other animals and sometimes people. They can carry rabies.
As far as human vampires are concerned -- I think not -- but then it is very difficult if not impossible to disprove something's existance. :)
