The only way a video game can hurt a tv if it is an older model, if the screen stays the same for a long period of time. Even then, it has to stay on the same screen for a long time. Most Video Games are designed to have a moving part at all times for this very reason.

If you have a psp component or composite cable you can watch video from your Psp on your TV, but to view games on your TV, you need the composite cable and a progressive scan tv (Newer HDTVs).
