Dominant genes are genes that are expressed more readily than recessive genes, i.e. if you had a genotype that was AaBb, A being for brown hair, a for blonde hair, B for brown eyes, b for blue, you would have brown hair and brown eyes as the genes for those phenotypes are dominant.
