Springer Spaniels originated in the United Kingdom, with their history dating back to the 19th century. They were primarily bred as hunting dogs, specifically for flushing game birds from dense underbrush. The breed is divided into two main types: the English Springer Spaniel and the Welsh Springer Spaniel, each with distinct characteristics but sharing a common ancestry. Over time, they have become popular as versatile family pets and working dogs due to their friendly nature and intelligence.

Yep, very! I have one, he's 5 and he loves running round the fields playing with his neighbor (Snowy). The love open spaces. So if you are thinking of getting one (which i agree with), I suggest you should have a big garden or fields/woods nearby for him/her to have a run around in! Hope this helps!
