They are by all means carnivores, to be as specific as possible, facultative hyper-carnivores. Basically what this means is, in order to maintain a healthy and ideal diet they need to consume meat for at least 70% of their food intake. Facultative means that this is optional, more specifically that they are capable of eating and digesting plant and fruit material, as opposed to an obligate carnivore that cannot (such as all cat species).
