Many people feel differently toward others based upon sexual orientation. Has many aspects of rearing, environment, etc.
My personal opinion
Personally, I am not against homosexuality. It is as natural as being heterosexual and simply another point on the continuum of the sexual orientation spectrum. This is backed up by numerous research, including the American Psychological Association and Dr Alfred Kinsey.
Being gay is not a choice. Just as heterosexuals did not wake up one day deciding to be straight, I didn't wake up one day deciding to be gay. It isn't something I have control over.
I also believe that all the social taboo and homophobia is immensely influenced by conservative religious organisations. In particular, the Roman Catholic Church and Islam are two of the greatest barriers yet to be overcome in our pursuit for a modern society.
No, not me. I am enjoying mine very much (lesbian). But some people do.
No. I support the constitutional right of same-sex couples to marry.
homosexuality does not go against the institution of marriage, much in the same way that being color blind does not go against the institution of marriage.homosexuality does not go against the institution of marriage, much in the same way that being color blind does not go against the institution of marriage.
Christianity is against sex before marriage and within the marriage only with your spouse so they are against it.
MisogamyNo, by definition, misogamy is: "A dislike of, contempt for, or ingrained prejudice against women" (not against marriage). Therefor, although a misogynist may be against marriage, it would be because he hates women. Whoever posted this answer (above) did not look up the definition of misogamy in a dictionary before posting.Merriam Webster lists [near antonyms] to marriage as: "annulment, divorce, and separation"; but if there was a true antonym for the word marriage, Webster would have listed it-they certainly do not list Misogamy. From what I can see, there is no true antonym for 'a person against marriage'. The term most commonly used is simply: "Anti-marriage".
yes
It depends on the religion: 1. Most branches of Christianity are against same sex marriage. 2. Virtually all branches of Islam are against same sex marriage. 3. Most branches of Judaism accept same sex marriage, while Orthodox Judaism and some Conservative Jews are against it.
Marriage has nothing in common with slavery, unless one partner is marriaged against his/her will, with no way out.
