Actually no. Light may travel to you at the speed of light but once it strikes your retina the process of seeing slows all the way down to bio-electrics which is a poor contender compared to the speed of light.
The light shown by the flash travels at the speed of light, while sound waves travels slower. It is the different speeds of light and sound that causes sound to be heard after seeing the flash.
The difference in the speed of sound and the speed of light. Light travels much faster than sound, so you will see it, and then hear it. The further away, the greater the time difference.
Need clarification please. The "it" you are referring to seeing, does that represent; A) the flashlight, B) the light from the flashlight, or C) "the speed of light"? Did you mean to imply that the flashlight was switched on? Is it an "old fashioned" bulb, an LED bulb, a laser light, or some other energy? Just wondering.
Is what the speed of light or light speed.ANSWER300,000 km/s
The time difference is due to the differences in the speed of light and sound. Light travels near 300,000,000 meters/second where sound travels 343 meters/second. Light travels almost one million times faster than sound therefore it reaches you first.
There is a delay between seeing the lightning and hearing the thunder because the speed of light (lightning) is much faster than the speed of sound (thunder). Thus, you SEE lightning first, and then you HEAR thunder later.
speed of light I think well it sounds right:)
The sun is 93 million miles from earth. The speed of light is 186,000 miles per second. It takes the light from the sun approximately 8 minutes to travel to earth. This is the reason why when you look at the sun you are actually seeing it as it was approximately 8 minutes ago.
speed of light
Seeing.
Light's speed is finite, so when you look out into space and see a star, you're seeing into the past, so it might have gone supernova or something.
Rods are for seeing light and dark, cones are for seeing color.
