The PlayStation 3 was designed to allow the unit to take a standard size harddrive and it can be replaced. This is not something you are supposed to do , but something that can be done and I quote the related link for the PlayStation knowledge center :
"The PS3 system hard disk drive (HDD) is removable and upgradeable. An upgrade can be performed by removing the hard drive and replacing it with a larger capacity drive. Please be advised that if you replace the hard drive, the data that was on the original hard drive will not show up on the PS3 unless you manually back up the data and transfer it to the replacement hard drive"
The related link shows procedures to remove the harddrive from most PS3 models
The PS3 slim with 120GB hardrive.
no
No they are 2 separate things.
Buy a new hardrive, and replace it with the old one
uh, in the 360 you just hold a button and pull open and it pops out, slide it in and it pops in, its at the very top of the xbox.
The ps3hardrive is the same as the computers all you need is remember the model of the hardrive the you take it to a computer store e.g PCworld etc. and ask a member of staff if the have it.
Yes It will as its a sata interface :)
no the game disc needs to be there to play the game as they are not downloaded
PS3 harddrives use standard laptop harddrives and you don't need to use a PS3 harddrive. If you want to use an old PS3 harddrive you must update the information to the new PS3 model software or it will not work
the 60gb ps3 has a bigger hardrive, card readers, 4 usb ports and backward compatability for ps2and ps1 games. ( the 60gb is far better).note: the 60gb ps3 is dicontinued
The PS3 slim is around 5 pounds lighter. A larger hardrive around 120gigs Consumes lesser electricity (greener) Older PS3 models permitted users to install third-party operating systems like Linux on them, that won't be possible with the PS3 Slim.
PS3 games are supposed to be region free
