Are you sure it was Sakura or Sasuke. Sakura was never bitten, mostly because she is not a worthy vessel for Orochimaru. Sasuke was bitten because back when Orochimaru was in the Akatsuki he tried to get Itachi's sharingan but it didn't work, so he went after Itachi's younger brother, Sasuke.
