No, they are not the same, although they give the same killstreak call sign perks, etc. One is online, and the other is like 1v1 against a friend at your house.

No.
no because once you go online you will start back from level 1. no emblem, no callsign, no unlocked guns.
10th prestige Level 70 as Online and Offline have the same level and prestige Caps.
The fourth level in Call of Duty Modern Warfare is No Russian (which can be skipped.)
There is 2 things about this. You get an offline (Splitscreen) exp system. and an Online exp system. which means if you play online. you gain exp normally. However if you start a split screen you get a new exp and start back at level 0. You get exp on split screen. However it doesn't add to your online profile. So your online profile could be level 60 where your offline (Split screen) profile could be level 30. Hope you understand and hope this helps you.
Level 42
wasteland is a map online in call of duty: modern warfare 2 ( loads of people camp in the cave so you better use a grenade launcher to launch in to get a few kills?)
In Black Ops, you don't get an offline multiplayer account. It only shows your playercard from your online account. So the answer to your question is; you can't level up on your Black Ops splitscreen account because you don't get splitscreen accounts in Black Ops.
