As a general rule, being a missionary for the Christian faith is one of the top duties of being a Catholic. Also, as a general rule, it is pretty much ignored by the rank and file, who are glad to let the religious Orders tend to missionary work. Vatican Council II tried to change that, and all it resulted in was a wreck of the Mass, and a vast apostasy of Catholics from the faith.
