The Church doesn't believe in gambling.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints believes that a person should pay tithing on all their increase. I suppose if a member broke the rule and went out and won the lottery, he probably should pay tithing on it.
It is important to mention that members aren't force to pay tithing or not gamble. If a member doesn't pay tithing, or gambles, he is not considered in good standing until he repents of those things.
The tithing man's church stick is typically made out of wood, such as oak or pine. It is a long staff or stick that was traditionally used to maintain order in church during services and to enforce tithing regulations.
Tithing is a gift, you income isn't really relevent.
Tithe (or tithing)
Like any churches, tithing in the Catholic church is an obligation to pay the bills. Unlike many other churches it is not aggressively enforced. They encourage to sacrifice 5% to 10% of your gross income.
I am going to guess that you mean "tithing", singular word is "tithe" - a pledge of 10% of your income to your church.
God will return your tithes a hundredfold. Once you give, he will restore it. :)
All members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) are asked to pay a tithe, but it is not a requirement for membership in the Church. You can learn more about what Mormons believe about tithing at the "Related Links" below.
The Chruch of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints or better known as the Mormon Church is the richest. Hands down it has the most liquidity and cash on hand to spend at any time. The Catholic Church has a lot of assets but they don't have the residual income of the Mormon's tithing and they are losing the money war by the seconds.
They are in communion because Christ is the head of his church while the church his body. The spouse of Christ is the church.
It is called tithing; one gives a tithe to the church.
The church of Christ
There are probably a number of different words, but offering and tithing come to mind.
