Condensation, which is part of the water cycle.
The process of cloud formation is called condensation or deposition. Both combined with water generate clouds on the atmosphere. Condensation occurs when vapor changes to liquid water. Deposition occurs when ice forms from water vapor.

The atmosphere
The process of which water is stored in the atmosphere as vapor, such as clouds & humidity.
When water vapor in the air becomes liquid, it's called condensation. Many people see condensation when carrying a cold glass outside on a hot day. The condensation process creates clouds in the atmosphere.
The process of rain is actually quite simple. The water is absorbed into the atmosphere producing clouds and when these clouds get too heavy they release the water as rain.
The water cycle is driven by energy from the sun. Liquid water is evaporated and changed into a gas. In this process, energy is absorbed (endothermic). The gaseous vapour rises and circulates in the atmosphere, cools and changes back into a liquid. This process is called condensation and releases energy (exothermic). Tiny droplets of water in the atmosphere accumulate to form clouds, which can return the water to Earth as precipitation, namely rain or snow.
