I would recommend at 100,000 miles. If the vehicle has been driven hard---accelerations or a lot of low-gear pulling--- 60,000.

How do you replace the headlight assembly located on a 1997 Subrau Legacy Outback?

I just replaced mine last week on both headlights on my subaru legacy L. Outback model should be the same. The one on the right (driver side) is easier to do since you'll have a lot of room to work it. First remove the battery out and you should see immediately the wiring on the headlight. Remove the connector by pinching the top plastic arm and it should come off easy. There is a round plastic cover before you get to the bulb. Remove it by twisting it anti-clockwise. Pull the bulb out and replace it with a new one. You should also replace the one on the left side also(passenger side). That way, the light brightness will be balanced and even while you turn them on. The passenger side needs just a little more work but you can get to it. You need to remove the intake air manifold to get easy access to it and do the same exact thing as you did on driver's side. .

Why do 1991 Subrau Lagecy tail lights marker lights stay on when I shut the lights off?

One answer is that your light switch has worn out and is shorting out. Replacement of it might be your best option. Leaving it "as is" will run your battery down. If you have a schematic of your electrical system or a repair manual for your model of car may have other answers. biker bob I have a similar problem, my park lights blink when everything is shut off and it did run the battery down. my ouestion is did the light switch solve the problem you had? There is a switch on top of the steering column that turns on the parking lights independent of the headlights. Check that this switch is not engaged.

Where do you pour transmission fluid in subrau legacy?

When adding transmission fluid to a Subaru Legacy or almost any other vehicle with an automatic transmission, your, first of all, going to need a long necked funnel. When you check the fluid level you pull out a dip stick that normally sits in a tube of some sort. Once you check the level, leave the dip stick out and place the small end of the funnel into the hole the stick came out of. Then slowly pour the transmission fluid into the funnel. Be sure you do not over fill the fluid level as it can cause damage to the transmission. Once the desired level is reach, return the dip stick to the tube. Always check the fluid level with the vehicle at normal operating temperature and idling in park.
