1. Make sure gas cap is tight securing it with at least three "clicks".
2. Wait for about five days for the Check Engine light to go out.

Few more reasons may be:

1. Faulty oxygen sensor.
2. Mass airflow sensor fails.
3. Malfunctioning of spark plugs or plug wires.
