We give this much Aid: | |
yes
We give bilateral aid
Australia that's all i know Fiji is the centre of the Pacific with many allies. One of its greater Allies is China. Australia and New Zealand have sat sanctions against the Fiji Government isolating Fiji and its people. The "Look North Policy" have attracted many investors, businesses, AID and others especially from China, S.Korea, Japan and the Middle East.
It mainly focuses on the Fiji islands as the organisation claims this area to be in worst condition.
There is still no definite answer, especially sincve this is a debatable topic.
Foreign aid
Unlike elsewhere, natural disaster such as tropical cyclone is common all over the south pacific. Australia & New Zealand are the only south pacific countries who give and lend a hand to other south seas island state in any disaster. Haiti received more funds not only from Canada and the States but all over the world including United Arab Emirates. Fiji on the other hand do braodcast their humanitarian help AID but Aust & NZ takes care of the Pacific most of the time including funding, aid, health, food, shelter etc.
They probably know it is not to some degree however the aid needs to be allocated and once it is Australia can say that it has fulfilled its obligations.
Australia does not earn anything in foreign aid. Foreign aid is an expense that costs Australia hundreds of millions of dollars per year.
Yes! Australia is a large pacific nation donor. All outgoing Australian aid is handled by AusAID (Australian Agency for International Development) which is responsible to the Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade and ultimately the Australian Foreign Affairs Minister.
World Vision will give aid anywhere. They will send aid to poor countries Haiti. That is where they give aid. Hope you found it helpful:)
