After WW2 ing Germany a loaf of bread costs a few thousand because of something similar to the Great Depression, but worse. The wgons people pushed with the few thousand were worth less than the wagone itself. So theives would steal the wagon instad of the money.

It was typically 25 cents a loaf. Although there is, of course, regional variation in prices.

According to Retroville (link below) in 1950 bread was 14 cents per loaf (and milk sold for 82 cents a gallon!)
