My son is 9 today and his school just did the President's fitness challenge mile and he ran the mile in 7:29. I printed out the averages for the President's Fitness Challenge and this is what those averages say: to be in the 85th percentile a ten year old boy would run the mile in 7:57. A ten year old girl to run in the 85th percentile would run the mile in 9:19. I did not print out the criteria to be in the 50th percentile but to find this information I did a search for President's Fitness Challenge, elementary school.
My 10 year old girl runs a 6:17 mile. She trains 2-4 miles a day 6 days a week for 6 months. I've seen other girls that age run 5:59 - to 6:10 Hard to believe , but true. Watch the USATF and AAU track.
Well, when I was in Grade 5, I finished it in 9:34 minutes (I'm a girl) and most girls got around 11-12 minutes. The fastest girl finsished it in 7:57 minutes.
The fastest boy finished it in 6 minutes and most boys finished it around 9-10.
Usually around 6 minutes. If you can do that, you're in really good shape.
I am a girl and ran a mile in 6:30.... but most should in about 7:50-8:45ish
it depends! i think anything around the 8 min mark would be good :)
It all depends on the person, but anywhere from a 7-10 minute mile is good for a girl of any age.
About 10 minutes. It is very simple.
