It means your battery is half-dead. It is not strong enough to turn over the engine. Charge it up. If the battery is over four years old, it probably needs replacement. Get one with a lot of Cold-Cranking Amps. That is one measure of how well it is made. Most auto parts stores can Load Test (and charge) the battery if you bring it to them. If the charged battery tests out at 12.6v and is fairly new, then your charging system might be screwed up. Keep the jumper cables in the car and don't stop until you get it to where it can be fixed. Battery is located in the trunk, under the tray on the right side. It most likely is a wierd long skinny maintence-free battery. [BTW-Some Z4's have two batteries!]. Convertibles get a special vibration-resistant battery that must be replaced like-for-like.
