'Back to the Future' was filmed on a back-lot of Universal Studios called the "Courthouse Square" in California .
The 1985 film Back to the Future was primarily shot at Courthouse Square, in the Universal Studios back lot. Doc Brown's house was portrayed by the Robert R. Blacker House and Gamble House. The Puente Hills Mall stood in for the Twin/Lone Pine Mall, and Hill Valley High School was represented by Whittier High School. All filming locations were in California.
It is not exactly sure yet. Back To The Future is my favorite ride. There is a rumor Universal Studios is gonna rebuild it in 2015... But that would not make sense cuz you go to 2015 on the ride. I sent Universal Studios an Email... I hop Back to The Future gets rebuilt if it doesn't I'm gonna rebuild the ride myself! I'm gonna buy a lot the size of the rides perimeter and rebuild the Institute of Future Technology so Back To The Future The Ride Will Live On Forever and ever!
