Battery problems on 91' Cadillac DeVille. Battery died and when jumped it would run then die seconds after. 1st mechanic said it was loose bolts on the battery the 2nd said its the battery itself?

hello i am the one who asked this question. some extra info. The "bolts" problem was fixed by the first mechanic. I am getting the a replacement battery today but the one now is brand new. Hopefully it is the problem. When the car battery dies i feel it in the pedal. The entire car shuts off lights, power and it just slows to a stop while driving. The alternator was checked by both mechanics and its all good.
