You must buy a 1 year license to trade on the NYSE. They used to be called "seats". I believe they cost around $40,000.00 They used to be auctioned off to the highest bidder, but once the NYSE merged with Archipeligo, over half of the trades come in electronically.

Or "clerk" for another person or firm and learn the ropes and once you save up your own money to buy a license and trade, strike out on your own. This is the traditional method, and you can look on monster.com or wall street journal classifieds for listings.

Most floor traders make up to $10,000 a year. If you work at the NYSE, then you might get payed about $20,000. You don't need education!!!! Do something that you actually enjoy doing for the rest of you life.
To become a member of the NYSE (New York Stock Exchange) a company must first purchase a trader's license and become a member of the FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority). To join the FINRA, a company must be a proprietary trading firm.
