quatitative observations have to do with QUANTITY and qualitative observations have to do with QUALITY.
Absolutely. In behavioral science, an individual studies the behaviors of an organism and records their findings. Science by definition is a study of one's surroundings through a series of experiments and observations. So yes, behavioral science is a type of science. Hence it being called behavioral science. ;]

Cognitive learning theories differ from strict behavioral ones by accounting for changes in mental processes such as thinking, memory, and problem-solving. While behavioral theories focus on observable behaviors, cognitive theories emphasize internal mental processes that impact learning and behavior. Cognitive theories also consider the role of beliefs, expectations, and perceptions in shaping behavior.
Behavioral theories focus on how external stimuli shape behaviors through reinforcement and punishment, while cognitive theories emphasize internal mental processes like attention, memory, and problem-solving. Behavioral theories suggest that learning is a result of environmental conditioning, whereas cognitive theories argue that learning involves active mental processes that interpret and organize information from the environment.
how does a theory differ from an inference
When writing observations for a childcare class, focus on objective descriptions of the child's behaviors, interactions, and development. Include details about the child's social skills, emotional responses, and physical activities. Avoid making subjective interpretations or judgments, and instead provide specific, observable examples to support your observations.
The initial observation sets the scene for an experiment...what did you see? what was happening? How to improve it? And so on. As the experiment proceeds you record all observations..what do you see?...what is happening? Etc. At the end you note the final observations and how do they differ from the initial observations. So, Initial observation is the observations you made initially of an experiment.
An observation is something you have SEEN, an inference is a logical conclusion drawn to EXPLAIN something you have seen/noticed..
Personality can be determined through self-report questionnaires, behavioral observations, interviews, and psychological assessments. Self-report questionnaires measure how individuals perceive themselves, while behavioral observations involve assessing how individuals behave in different situations. Interviews provide insight into an individual's thoughts and feelings, and psychological assessments assess specific personality traits through standardized measures.
