 These examples show how Hobbes used the concept of revolution, taken straight from the astronomical discourse described in De Corpore, for his analysis of the English Civil Wars.

 The political power seemed to return to the original place where it had all begun.

 First, he calls the whole period of the English civil wars a revolution. Second, he characterizes the movement of sovereign power as a circular motion.
