Ultimately the less material sticking out of the piercing the better. See in the early days of navel piercing, they were all done with rings however this meant the piercing could be irritated by the excessive amount of material exiting from the piercing. Now with the advent of purpose designed body jewellery a properly sized and fitted navel gem means the piercing has less material that can snag or hang up on clothing. This allows the piercing to heal without the irritation seen in ring navel piercings.
The navel should be visualized as a nest, the navel gem "gem" should be considered as the egg in the nest and should be centered to hang in the middle of the navel. The object is to draw attention to the whole package not just the gem but the navel and waist line as a complete package. The object is to highlight the figure of the client, this is where an experienced eye and the knowledgeable skill of a professional body piercer comes into play.
You need to have a bar or ring in the piercing else it will heal up because a piercing is just like a wound. if theres a bar or ring there then it will heal but around the ring or bar, so you still have the piercing. You don't need a ring, you can have a belly button bar. x
Its the jewelry that goes into a belly button piercing.
I have both my lip and belly button pierced. I had my belly button pierced with a hoop and my lip pierced with a bar/stud. The belly button was more irritating then the lip because a hoop piercing requires the piercer to clamp it shut and fiddle around with a new pierced part instead of just screwing a ball on. I recommend any new piercings to be with a bar/stud as it is quicker and less irritating. Put it this way, I'm going for a 2nd lip piercing and not another belly button piercing ;)
No, maybe your bar is rejecting? Go and see your piercer or a local piercing place immediately!
You can't unless you get a PTFE bar.
mine cost £35 with a second bar mine cost £35 with a second bar
Only if you snag the bar with the heavy object and tear it.
You usually can tell if you see the bar through your skin. If you see it take it out before it rips thru.
you pull it out hard
no aslong as being used with a clean bar and needle.
it's just like a belly bar. you unscrew the top ball, and then pull it from the bottom :)
the reason its crusting is because its healing, you need to make sure that you continue to clean it twice a day and gently remove the crust around the bar, keep doing this, and you will have an infection free piercing! hope this helped! xxx
